ASICPP - Elections | Art Direction, Design

Every year Associated Students Inc., Cal Poly Pomona (ASICPP) holds elections for student government positions, including President, Vice President, Class Senators, and more. ASICPP’s primary goal with the elections campaign is to bring awareness, promote events, and to get students out to vote. The campaign is broken into three phases—awareness, events, and voting.

Known for “playing it safe” with our graphics and messaging, we set out in 2024 to test the waters with something more aggressive. We started with the phrase, “Tired of this shit? Get off your ass and do something!”. Knowing the student body wouldn’t respond well to that level of aggression, we injected positivity with clarifying messages why folks needed to get involved. We allowed the graphics to push the sense of urgency.

Above is the mood board put together by our lead designer for the campaign. Elements of this mood board were used to build out each of the three phases.
